Saint Patrick
Saint Patrick
As we watch the news these days, whose hearts are not saddened by the suffering that people and nations cause each other? If only we could learn to forgive as Patrick (c. 389 – 461) forgave those who enslaved him as a young man, taking him to Ireland to serve as a shepherd. A few years after escaping his captors, Patrick returned to them to spread the Good News of God’s love. Every time we choose to forgive, we bring the world a little closer to Jesus’ dream that all may be one (John 18, 20). Happy Saint Patrick Day!
